I believe there is no louder calling than that of becoming a mother. And as the path to doing so becomes more mystifying and less linear, that pull towards your child can grow impossibly strong.

The ways through which we hope to arrive at parenthood are deeply variable. Our bodies and stories are perplexedly nuanced.

And yet, despite the uniqueness of our journeys, I discovered that we who wind most on our way to conceiving will always share one thing in common: the need for more support - and support of the right kind.

With reliable knowledge and connection, the bind of wanting and not yet having can become a lighter one to bear.

During the course of my years-long IVF journey, it felt like the world had forged ahead while I barely balanced in place; repeating tests and procedures and playing a wild waiting game of tug-of-war - often oscillating between uncertainty and intuition, and exhaustion and hope. 

I felt overwhelmingly under-supported. With nowhere to land my unease, I experienced the isolation that many of us endure.

After a quiet phase of processing, I stopped guarding my heart and story. Only then did a small support system appear - and quickly. The shared resonance washed over me with a lightness that I so desperately needed, and it is the reason I do this work.
